The A-B-C's of FUN!

The weather around here the last couple of weeks has been less than delightful .... unless you like that really cold temperature and strong wind. This southerner, for one, is not a fan of the cold weather. I realize that some parts of our country would relish 30-35 degree temperatures in January/February, but I am ready for the warmer days and bright color palette of Spring. Also, with three small kids around our house there is the need for an energy release of running and playing outside to help cure that winter cabin fever. So, with the temperatures today in the 60's and a beautiful sunshine my wife came up with just the activity to allow us to take advantage of the gorgeous day and have fun as a family. Her idea ..... an alphabet scavenger hunt.

The object of the game was to think of an activity or location in our town that started with each of the letters of the alphabet - and then drive there and take a picture of the kids at the location or enjoying the activity. Some letters were harder than others, but we had a blast. For example .... A was for airplane at the airport, B was for bridge at the park, C was for climbing on the playscape at the park, D was for the purple dinosaur ride at the park, ...... Many of the letters were taken care of by activities at the park.

I had an appointment this morning, so I joined Tricia and the kids around lunch time. They had a few more letters to take pictures for and one of them was the letter Z, so I helped them out with lunch at Zaxby's!! We had a blast!

So, I am curious. What kind of activities does your family use for fun days!
