Good Habits Are Hard To Keep

I have heard it said that it only takes 21 days for something to become a habit. My problem is that I can quit as easily on day 22 as on day 2! Back in August 2008 I started working out, exercising and controlling my eating habits. From August 15, 2008 to November 15, 2008 I lost 24 pounds (from 242 to 218). In the last three months I have not been as consistent with my efforts. Actually, I have been downright lazy. One of my favorite shows to watch is The Biggest Loser. There is nothing like watching others change their lives through weight loss and better health while I eat a bowl of ice cream or eat a plate of peanut butter crackers!

So, having finally reached my boiling point of being lazy and out of shape - I began in earnest today to get back in the "habit" of exercise and better eating habits. Actually, my eating habits have not been my problem ..... I just have not been exercising.

My new starting weight is 232 pounds and my waistline is 42 inches. My goals (whenever I reach them) are to be in the 185-190 weight and no more than a 36 inch waist. I have accountability with the Lord, my wife, and now you. I will keep you posted as I progress (and struggle) each week.
